ERcost.com is designed to avoid collecting unnecessary protected health information. Do not submit diagnosis details, medical record numbers, account numbers, insurance member IDs, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or other private medical details.

Wait-time and source-correction submissions may include facility selection, approximate arrival and seen times, timestamp metadata, and optional notes. Submissions are moderated before any public display.

Patient-report spam controls may store a hashed IP address and browser user-agent string. ERcost.com does not need raw IP addresses for public display and does not ask for medical record identifiers.

ERcost.com may use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve page quality. Google Analytics may process page URLs, approximate location, device and browser details, referral information, and interaction events according to Google's analytics settings.

The MVP does not accept bill uploads. If bill upload support is added later, users should remove names, member IDs, account numbers, dates of birth, claim numbers, barcodes, and other private details before submitting documents.

Contact requests may be used to respond to the sender, investigate source corrections, and improve site quality. ERcost.com does not sell personal health information.
